Strengthen the basic capacity of universities and support them with their strategic characterization in response to future social changes, and aid with the establishment of a system to produce future-oriented creative talent through voluntary innovation by universities to lay the groundwork for national innovation

Research areas: Innovation projects which are in line with universities’ mid- and long-term development plans in the fields of education, research, and university-industry cooperation

Eligibility: (Type I: voluntary agreement) 131 universities; (Type II: capacity enhancement) 12 universities

Summary: Enhance universities’ basic capacity in the fields of education, research, and university-industry cooperation, and support comprehensive innovation and strategic characterization

Period: 3 years

Funding: Average of KRW 3.948 billion (USD 3.55 million*) per project

 * approximation based on exchange rate of 1 USD = 1,100 KRW
