The Directorate for Basic Research in Science & Engineering is committed to supporting the efforts of S&E researchers who, through their creativity, seek to uncover the fundamental knowledge and original technologies which can contribute to the betterment of society and promote progress for all of humankind.
Through the PM (Program Manager) system, research programs are managed by an expert from the specified sector, thereby enhancing the efficiency and fairness of project management. This in turn increases the effectiveness of research support programs and helps to foster a research environment where creativity can flourish.
